Black Friday
Some call it “Black Friday”. Others call it “Good Friday”. I call it Salvation.
They call it “Black Friday” because that is the day that began with the Kiss of Judas and the denial of Christ by Peter three times. During this day, Christ was denied by the Jewish religious leaders, denied by the Jewish and Roman political authorities and denied by the crowds who prayed “Let his blood be upon us” and chose to save the life of Barabbas instead of recognizing and saving the Messiah.
Ecce Homo (“Behold the Man” by Antonio Ciseri
The glorious gift of Jesus Christ was thrown back into the Father’s face and that entailed many adverses conseuences to those who scorned God’s free gift and eternal life. If you want God’s gift , then you must choose to receive it and you must choose to recieve it through the One who God has appointed to offer eternal life.
Israel had a choice. The majority rejected making it a “dark day” for those who rejected. A minority of Israel, the “the seed of God” and the “New Israel,” had the same choice , and they chose well.
We all sooner or later have the same choice. Joshua said: “Choose this day who you will serve, but for me and my house we will serve the Lord.”
My prayer for you is that this will not be “Black Friday”, but instead it will be Salvation Friday.
Choose well. Your life depends upon it!
